Multi-camera podcast production, location filming and motion design for Safe Landing, the podcast series about the future of aviation, recorded at Farnborough Air Show.
Safe Landing is an organisation founded and run by former airline pilots who are concerned about the climate crisis and aviation's contribution to it. They campaign on UK aviation policy and cover the alternatives: electric flight, sustainable aviation fuel and other emerging technologies. The podcast is aimed at people working in the aviation industry, those interested in climate solutions and general aviation enthusiasts, and will be published on YouTube and through the Safe Landing newsletter and website.
We were brought in to produce the podcast as a video series, filming at Farnborough Air Show and handling everything from cameras and audio to motion design and post-production.
One of the guests interviewed for the series was Elysian, the Dutch aircraft manufacturer working on fully electric short-haul aviation.
We designed the complete visual identity for the series in motion, including the title sequence, lower thirds and episode stings. The title sting below was created in Adobe After Effects.
Filming at an air show presents its own challenges: outdoor light conditions, ambient noise and a location that cannot be controlled the way a studio can. The behind-the-scenes clip and photo below give a sense of the setup.
