Questions, answered

Everything you want
to know. Honestly.

We get asked the same questions a lot. Here are honest, direct answers — no waffle, no upsell.

Starting out
Should I have a podcast?

Probably, if you have genuine expertise, a defined audience, and something worth saying. A podcast is one of the most powerful trust-building tools available to brands and experts — it lets people spend real time with you, in their ears, week after week.

It's not for everyone. If you have nothing distinctive to say, no consistent angle, or no appetite to show up regularly, a podcast won't save that. But if you're a consultant, a researcher, a founder, or an organisation with real knowledge and a real point of view, it's hard to beat.

The honest question isn't "should I?" but "what would mine actually be?" If you can answer that, get in touch.

What will a podcast actually do for my brand?

Done well, a podcast positions you as the go-to voice in your space. It builds the kind of trust that blog posts and social media rarely manage — because audio is intimate, and sustained listening is a form of commitment from your audience.

Our clients report more inbound leads, stronger relationships with existing clients, and increased profile in their field. It also creates evergreen content — episodes that keep working for you long after publication.

The caveat: it takes time. The brands that get the most out of podcasting are the ones who commit to it for at least six months.

What results will I get?

We won't make numbers up. Results depend on your niche, your existing audience, how much promotion you put behind the show, and how good the content is.

What we can tell you is that we build in ways to measure success from the start — downloads, subscriber growth, listener retention, inbound inquiries. We set realistic expectations before we begin and track against them.

The shows that perform best are the ones with a clear audience, a consistent format, and genuine commitment from the host. We'll help you build all three.

Format & hosting
Should I have an audio or video podcast?

Both have their place, and the right answer depends on your goals, your budget, and your audience.

Audio is more intimate and accessible — people listen while commuting, exercising, doing dishes. It's cheaper to produce and reaches audiences through Spotify, Apple Podcasts and everywhere else. It's also where the most loyal listening happens.

Video adds reach on YouTube and social media. A well-produced video podcast can be repurposed into clips, reels, and short-form content that works across platforms.

Many of our clients start with audio and add video later. We'll advise based on what's realistic for your budget and where your audience actually is.

What does it take to be a podcast host?

Less than most people think, and different to what most people assume.

You don't need a great voice, broadcasting experience, or to sound like a radio presenter. The best podcast hosts are curious, well-prepared, and authentically themselves. Listeners want to spend time with a real person, not a performance.

We handle the production, the editorial prep, the research briefings before each interview, the editing, and the distribution. You show up prepared, you ask the questions, you engage with your guests. We do everything else.

If you're nervous, we'll do a full briefing session before your first record. Most clients find it comes naturally within two or three episodes.

Production
Do you film and record in a studio, or at my location?

Both, and remotely — whatever the project calls for.

Most of our work begins remotely. We can produce broadcast-quality audio and video content with guests and hosts recording from home or office setups, with the right equipment and guidance from us.

For projects that benefit from it, we come to you. We've produced content from boardrooms, offices, labs, and outdoor locations across the UK and internationally. On-location filming is available as an add-on.

If you want studio hire, we can arrange that too and manage the whole day for you.

Do you do branding and graphic design?

Our core offering is editorial production — the content, the story, the craft of making something people actually want to listen to or watch.

For branding and visual identity, we work with trusted specialist designers and can coordinate that as part of a full-service launch. We won't hand you something that doesn't look the part.

Where we have strong opinions is on how your brand comes across editorially — the name, the positioning, the tone, the format. That's baked into everything we do.

Do you design cover art?

Yes, cover art is included in our full-service launch packages. We brief and coordinate specialist podcast designers and sign off everything to make sure it works across all platforms — Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube thumbnails.

If you already have a designer you love, we're happy to work alongside them with our brief.

Brand & safety
How do I protect my brand and image? What if something goes wrong?

We come from broadcast journalism, where editorial standards and brand safety are built into everything — not bolted on afterwards. That training shows up throughout our process.

Before any interview, we do thorough research on guests and send a detailed briefing document covering the topics, the angle, and what's off limits. We won't put you in a room with someone who could damage your brand.

Our editing process includes a full editorial review — we flag anything that could be misread or cause reputational risk before it goes anywhere near a listener.

And if something does go wrong during a record — a difficult moment, a mis-speak, a guest who goes off-script — we handle it in editing. That's what we're trained for.

Pricing
Is it expensive?

It costs less than most people fear, and more than a DIY setup. The right question is: what does it cost to do it badly?

A poorly produced podcast, one that sounds amateur, lacks editorial rigour, or fails to build an audience, wastes your time and reflects poorly on your brand. That's the real cost.

Our launch packages start from £2,749. Monthly production subscriptions are available for clients who want to keep production running without managing it themselves. Every project is quoted individually because no two are the same. See our services and pricing →

What are your rates?

All pricing is bespoke and quoted before we start. Our launch packages start from £2,749 for a full audio podcast launch, rising depending on scope, episode count, video production, and add-ons. Monthly production subscriptions start from £1,200/month.

We're upfront about cost from the first conversation. No surprises, no hidden fees. See the full pricing guide →

How long does it take to launch a podcast?

We can take a brand new podcast from first conversation to live in 60 days. That covers strategy, audience research, branding, production, trailer, and launch.

Some projects move faster; some, particularly those with complex editorial requirements or large teams to coordinate, take a little longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline in the first call. See the 60-day process →

How many clients do you work with at once?

We deliberately keep client numbers low. We're a small, focused team and we think that's a feature, not a limitation. Every client gets genuine attention, not a production line.

We typically work with two to four active production clients at any one time. If you're interested, get in touch sooner rather than later.

Practical questions
Can you advise me on the best podcast equipment?

Yes, and we won't try to sell you anything expensive you don't need. The honest answer is that a good USB microphone, a quiet room, and proper technique beats a home studio full of gear used badly.

We give every client a straightforward equipment brief tailored to their budget and recording setup, and we coach you on how to get the best out of whatever you have.

How long should my podcast be, and how often should I release it?

It depends entirely on your format and audience. There is no universal right answer, and anyone who tells you otherwise hasn't thought about it carefully.

Interview shows tend to run 30 to 60 minutes. Narrative or documentary formats can be shorter or longer. Solo shows often work well at 15 to 25 minutes. Frequency matters more than length: a consistent weekly show outperforms an irregular one every time.

We'll work out the right format for your audience and your capacity in the strategy phase, before a single episode is recorded.

Can I hear some of the other podcasts you've produced?

Yes. Our case studies include The Climate Question for BBC World Service and Climate Actually. You can listen and watch through the links on our work page.

We're also happy to share additional examples relevant to your sector on a call.

I've got more questions — what's the best next step?

Book a free 30-minute call. It's not a sales pitch, it's a conversation. We'll answer whatever you want to know, and if we're not the right fit, we'll say so and point you in the right direction.
