Climate, Actually, our video podcast with climate scientist Dr Kimberly Nicholas, launched on 17 August 2026. In its first week it:
- Was featured on Carbon Brief's recommended watch list
- Was shared and supported by Project Drawdown
- Reached the Top 30 in the UK Science podcast charts
- Reached the Top 100 in the United States
- Hit number 10 in Sweden
- Ranked in the top 10% of all podcasts globally
- Passed 10,000 views and listens
None of that was guaranteed. What made the difference was treating it like a broadcast launch, not hitting publish and hoping people would find it.
Three things that made the difference
That meant three things: a proper strategy, strong guests, and a clear editorial hook. For Climate, Actually that hook is the SHIFT framework, built around five climate "superpowers".
We also ran a coordinated communications plan, with press releases and a launch team of more than 20 people sharing on day one.
What listeners are saying
The best part has been the feedback. Listeners keep telling us it feels different to most climate content: hopeful, practical, and led by someone who actually knows the science. That is the whole point, and it is proof that a people-first approach beats doom and gloom.
